Welcome
Dear Colleagues,
It is my great pleasure, on behalf of the Organizing Committee, to invite you to attend the JCCC 2025, the Joint 18th International Conference on Calixarenes (Calix 2025) and 8th International Conference on Cucurbiturils (ICCB 2025) on June 1-5, 2025, in Macau SAR, China. The conference aims to provide an open forum for discussion and exchange of ideas on all aspects of the synthesis and properties of calixarenes, cucurbiturils, and related macrocycles, with an emphasis on the various emerging applications such as in biomedical sciences, pharmaceutical sciences, catalysis, and materials sciences. More information about the conference, including plenary/invited speakers, program schedule, registration, travel and accommodations, will be regularly updated on the conference website (https://jccc2025.um.edu.mo).
As a special administrative region (SAR) of China, Macau is an international free port and top-end tourism and leisure center. The “Vegas of the East” tag tells only half of the story. Macau bears the marks of centuries of Sino-Portuguese heritage, with age-old temples and churches, as well as colonial-era architectures alongside its modern, luxurious casinos and hotels. The same global mix influences everything from its culture to cuisine. Macau sits within easy reach of HK international airport (in addition to its own Macau International Airport), making it straightforward to visit from all major cities around the globe. The University of Macau (UM) is an international public comprehensive university in Macao, with a multicultural campus and a system of whole-person education underpinned by faculties and residential colleges in an international education setup. The beautiful campus, commissioned in 2014 on a 1.09 km2 land, opens its arms to faculties, students and visitors from all over the globe.
This letter serves as the first circular of the conference. Individual invitations for our plenary and invited lectures (tentative list posted on the website) will be sent out very soon. I look forward to your participation at JCCC 2025 and meeting you in Macau!
Sincerely,
Ruibing Wang
Chair of JCCC2025
Call for special issue of JCCC2025 by Supramolecular Chemistry
We are excited to announce the launch of a special issue titled “JCCC2025: Joint Calix-ICCB 2025”, in conjunction with JCCC 2025—the Joint 18th International Conference on Calixarenes (Calix 2025) and the 8th International Conference on Cucurbiturils (ICCB 2025)—to be held at the University of Macau, Macau SAR, China, from June 1 to 5, 2025. This special issue will celebrate the latest advancements in the chemistry of calixarenes, cucurbiturils, and related macrocyclic systems.
We invite high-quality submissions of original research articles and comprehensive reviews on topics related to, but not necessarily presented at, JCCC 2025. Contributions should focus on the following areas:
- Synthesis of novel macrocyclic host molecules, including but not limited to calixarenes and cucurbiturils.
- Properties and functions such as molecular recognition, catalysis, sensing, adsorption, ion transport, and self-assembly.
- Emerging applications in biomedical, pharmaceutical, and materials sciences.
Tutorials on methods or techniques that facilitate supramolecular chemistry studies are also welcome.
